Cameron Mitchell

I'm not sure if the writers or the creators of Glee will choose Cameron for Glee, but this guy is getting a fan base.

He's from Ft.Worth, Texas. And a very talented nerd who sings, plays the guitar. He says the Beatles have always inspired him.

Just 21. But if Glee isn't his true calling, I am sure we will see this guy in something. Soon. I can only hope.

Cameron reminds me a bit of actor Brett Harrison who got his start as Brad on Grounded for Life.

They are a trio, Alex Trimble, Kevin Baird, and Sam Halliday.

They toured earlier this year in the states with Tokyo Police Club. They were also at this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

Fiction Tuesday - Boyfriends with Girlfriends - a book review

I've enjoyed Alex Sanchez's works since finding Rainbow Boys. He's back with a new topic. And for those who are bi-curious, well this is the book that might get you talking with friends.

This is the story of Sergio (who's bi) getting up the nerve to met Lance (who's gay) at the mall- who met on the Internet. Yet being the insightful and wise teenagers they are, they both bring along their 'besties' which so happen to be girls. Allie, Lance's friend and Kimiko, Sergio's friend who is gay(butch but not transgender).

The story dives in, right away. Kind of superficial, yet at the same time, aren't we all just a little when we meet someone? Of course, there is attraction. On one hand I'm thinking, isn't this kind of cliche? Yet, this is a book to get you thinking about the topic of how you might feel about bi-sexuality. Chances are, you know someone who is.

Again, this book brings up the questions you might have about it. This is bringing the Kinsey report down to earth. Of course, Lance isn't sure he can trust someone who is bi? After all, isn't Sergio gay if he likes him?

I liked how the story gave a background of everyone's experiences. Yet, Sanchez weaves it all about on the page without giving gritty details, but just enough to cover the basics. So from the attraction..comes forth the other aspect of any relationship... the emotional part. Commitment issues... as well as the fear of rejection. Would it be better just to be a friend with benefits?

Sanchez covers a lot of questions through his dialogue with these four teens. Each are on different levels of knowing what love is and how their family feels about them. And then there is Allie, Lance's trusted friend who suddenly wonders if she's bi-curious.

He gives you characters that most can relate too. They aren't making bad choices in life. But there are still questions and as you read this, you'll figure out what is the most important thing in life.

Sanchez works with a lot of GSA projects and education for teens. He has a graceful way of bringing up issues that many teens face. If you love his work and his characters,  you will want this on your list to read.

BAD TEACHER - Movie review

With a title like that, you might wonder how raunchy this movie might get starring Cameron Diaz as the bad ass Miss Halsey who's methods in teaching middle scholars isn't much. Granted Elizabeth Halsey just got jilted from her rich fiance and has to come back to teaching. Yes, Diaz's character is shallow and shameless..and definitely shouldn't be teaching.

Add the unlikely cameo roommate to the list of characters played by the wonderful Eric Stonestreet from MODERN FAMILY and you aren't sure just where this movie will take you. Honestly though, It was Lucy Punch who stole the movie as the perky teacher across the hall. Her Miss Squirrel was perky and sweet yet possibly demented who steals just about everything that Miss Halsey wants.

Elizabeth: “I found him in bed with somebody else.”
Amy: “Oh my gosh.”
Elizabeth: “It was another man.”
Amy: “Shut the front door.”

And Justin Timberlake was definitely the unlikely substitute teacher. He takes his character places that I had no idea could be so hilarious. Especially, a ridiculous sex scene starring jeans. Its hard to say what makes and breaks this movie. It has a great cast. Phylliss Smith as the co-worker teacher is just a gem in the movie. John Michael Higgins always delievers as a character actor. He plays the principal. Still, I felt there just wasn't enough Jason Segel. The plot line is a bit thin. And seriously, one wonders if Diaz's character has changed.

There are plenty of funny scenes in the film. And I do have to admit I loved the quirkiness of some of the players in the movie. Especially, who Diaz's character rooms with in the cheap place she finds. Still Diaz can come off so cold and blunt. Its hard to find her likable. Unlike some of the other actors in the film. Even if you know, just how lame Timberlake's character is he still makes him true.

I must say for a teacher in need of money Diaz wardrobe was amazing as she strutted her stuff through this movie. If you are going to this for the raunchiness of it, well, you might be dissatisfied. Still, there are some fun moments. Yet, the movie isn't going to bring you to a new level of any of these actors acting. Its somewhere in the middle. You just might want to wait for the DVD release, and even then, you might wait.
 

STORYLINE: A comedy centered around a foul-mouthed, junior high teacher who, after being dumped by her sugar daddy, begins to woo a colleague -- a move that pits her against a well-loved teacher.

Cougars, Inc. - DVD review

There was so much I disliked about this movie. For starters, the name of the movie. Argh. But this movie has ..guess who??? Kyle Gallner playing the lead.

Even so, I'm not sure what it was that made this such a Lampoonish movie. Perhaps it tries to hard and isn't sure what its really after. I wouldn't dare call it porn. Even if  perhaps it tries to go there with some of the scenes. Especially with his party animal buddies at school. I won't say the writing was entirely bad, and yet it was.

In spite of its fun little tidbit of question scenerios pieced in the chapters of the story...the movie just dragged..from the very opening scene. Perhaps there were just way too many Points of Views and it might have been something if it would have stuck with Gallner's Sam. Showed exactly, where he came from to be at this prep school..as his last chance. It just didn't show that he had the underbelly angst of his past. He might as well have been a squeaky clean kid who gets mixed up with a woman who's in the middle of a divorce.

But of course, this is a film trying to be glossy and cool and something slick..when it obviously isn't. True, this film is made up of screen cap moments of Kyle as a guy before and after sex. And with those shots, you'd be better to create your own story than the one you have to suffer through.

Although, on one level..there is this vague theme that the physical game of sex won't out do the real thing. And yet was it the real deal when Sam met Courtney played by Sarah Hyland ? Sarah kind of comes off as a bitch. But finally they hit it off. And that other stuff about getting paid by old women (who seriously aren't all that old. No Cloris Leachman scenerio like the LAST PICTURE SHOW..no, these gals are model perfect!) to sleep with them..is just a faded memory..yet in the end..comes back to haunt him. Naturally.

Honestly, I felt the movie hadn't really gotten started to the real movie I would have liked to watch..until the very end.

If you need a Kyle Gallner fix, well..go ahead. Otherwise, definitely pass this one up at your video store or Net Flix.
